A Symphony of Light and Shadow: The Tam Coc Buffalo Painting
The "Shepherd Boy Playing Flute" painting has been created on the vast rice fields in Tam Coc, promising to be a major attraction during the upcoming Ninh Binh Tourism Week.
The artistic rice field in Ninh Hai commune, Hoa Lu district covers an area of nearly 10,000 square meters, featuring the image of a young cowherd playing the flute, inspired by the folk painting "Shepherd Boy Playing Flute".
Gigantic "Shepherd Boy Playing Flute"
The painting is one of the highlights aimed at attracting visitors during the "Golden Season in Tam Coc-Trang An 2024" Ninh Binh Tourism Week, which will take place from June 1 to 8. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 8 PM on June 1 at the Dong Gung bus station, in the Tam Coc - Bich Dong tourist area. Activities during this event include organizing a pedestrian street, an art photo exhibition, water puppet performances, chèo singing, xẩm singing, and folk music performances from the three regions, as well as a goat fighting competition.
Support and Supervision for Creating the Giant Painting
To create the giant painting to attract visitors, the Agriculture and Rural Development Division of Hoa Lu district has supported and supervised the local people since the beginning of the rice planting season. When the rice is ripe, the painting of the shepherd boy playing the flute will be visible in two colors: green and yellow. The rice variety used to create the painting is Thai Xuyen 111, which is a sturdy variety, resistant to pests and diseases, and suitable for the local cultivated land.
In previous tourism weeks, the Ninh Binh area has also created "Flag of the Festival" and "Ly Ngu Vong Nguyen" paintings in this rice field, which have attracted many visitors.
