According to data from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in 2023, Vietnam's tourism experienced a remarkable recovery, surpassing the set targets with 12.6 million international arrivals, exceeding the initial goal by 57% and achieving the adjusted target of 12-13 million arrivals. Domestic tourists reached 108 million, surpassing the 2023 plan by 6%. Total tourism revenue reached an estimated 678 trillion VND, exceeding the 2023 plan by 4.3%. With the impressive acceleration of the tourism industry since late 2023, especially the positive signals at the beginning of 2024, Vietnam's tourism is poised for a breakthrough in 2024. However, according to many experts, in the journey of recovery, Vietnam's tourism still faces numerous challenges and gaps in policies as well as competition from domestic enterprises.


In 2024, it's an opportune time for businesses to review their development strategies while exploring potential new markets such as the Middle East and India. According to forecasts by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), international tourism activities may fully recover by late 2024, reaching the levels seen in 2019, but the recovery rate will vary across regions. Additionally, the demands of international tourists are continually evolving, demanding higher quality products, enhanced experiences, diversity, and uniqueness.

In 2024, the tourism industry aims to welcome 17-18 million international arrivals, serve 110 million domestic tourists, and achieve a total revenue of approximately 840 trillion VND. At the beginning of 2024, during the New Year holiday, many provinces
